We are seeking a skilled and compassionate General Practitioner to join our medical team. As a General Practitioner, you will provide primary medical care to patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly.

Your responsibilities will include diagnosing and treating various medical conditions, conducting physical examinations, and providing preventive care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations of patients
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood work and imaging studies
  • Develop personalized treatment plans for patients
  • Provide preventive care, including vaccinations and health screenings
  • Collaborate with specialists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic medical record systems
  • Educating patients on health management and disease prevention strategies
  • Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases to government authorities

  • General check-ups (asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, flu, UTI’s, abscess, stitches, etc.)
  • Preoperative assessment

  • Children and Adolescent care
  • Women’s health and prenatal care
  • Pap smear and other routine screenings
  • Chronic Disease Management (Diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease
  • dyslipidemia, obesity, etc.)
  • Geriatric Care
  • Injections (pharmacy)
  • Minor Surgeries
  • Wart Treatments
  • Dressing Change & Wound Care
  • Wholesome family care
  • Mental health care
  • WCB. Providing tailored healthcare support for individuals who have experienced
  • workplace injuries
  • Third party services (Blue cross forms, Sick note, Insurance forms, DTC, AISH, CPP, etc.)

Degrees/qualifications/certificates: 

  • Active registration in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA)
  • Active professional liability protection insurance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivation, ability to work well without supervision, and capable of working collaboratively with the entire health care team
  • Active involvement in a recognized professional development program (e.g. Canadian College of Family Practice)

Other requirements/benefits: 

  • Full time 40 hours a week, or part time (hours TBD)
  • Working in weekends is optional
  • Fee for Service Collective Agreement, overhead split
  • Pay: From $200,000.00-$350,000.00 per year (if full-time)
  • Work location: Work to be completed at the physical location. There is no option for remote work
